Donovan

This is Donovan, he's a glimpse into the furutre of railway transport. He was built as an experimental 'Smart Engine' by a tech deleopment company called 'Fundamental Abstract Micro-technologies' or 'FAM' for short.

He's equipped with an antenna for receiving and sending messages to stations or other location that can receive them, multiple ports for him to access (or be accessed) other deviices, automatic brakes the engauge when a driver is not present in his cab, the ability to controlled from a remote, motion sensors, night vision scanners, keypad activated doors, and an assisting eyepeice that gives him access to the information of what he is plugged into as well as the internet.

Donovan tends to be more like a robot rather than an engine; he doesn't understand certain emotion as well as certain things others do. He also knows the full history of most to all the engines on Sodor, almost to the point that they get emabrassed when he mentions bootlaces or sliding into ditches.

If you know my character, Archer, you should also know that it is Donovan who started the engines of the future and their advancd technology. He's kind of their version of 'Stephenson's Rocket'.
